In August 2015, a Community Consultative Committee (CCC) for the proposed Jupiter wind farm began operating. After much agitation by the local community, it was established in accordance with the NSW Wind Farm Guidelines, in particular having the community representatives plus the independent Chairman appointed by the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE).
There is also one representative nominated by each of the Palerang and Goulburn-Mulwaree councils. The CCC has a set of Terms of Reference, which have been particularly modified to deal with the fact that Jupiter is not currently an approved wind farm and so the primary function at this stage is to get all relevant information about the proposal and its potential impact in the public domain and share it with the community.
DPE has appointed the following as community representatives and alternate representatives (to fill in during the absence of a nominated community representative). There have been some departures since the initial appointments, with replacements yet to be confirmed by the Department.
|Dr Michael Crawford||Ms Jenny Hajek|
|Mr Barry O'Neill||Mr Graham Hawke|
|Ms Sharn Ogden||Ms Victoria Holthouse|
|Ms Fiona Porteous||Mr Rod Thiele|
|Mr Neil Shepherd|
Meetings: Schedule, Agendas and Minutes
Given the delay in the formation of the CCC, meetings were initially held monthly. From 2016, meetings will normally be held about quarterly. Meetings are open to observers from the community, but anyone wishing to attend as an observer is asked to email the Chairman, Brian Elton ( Brian@elton.com.au ) requesting agreement, to help with managing numbers, etc.

CCC Questions and Answers
The CCC provides a forum for asking questions of EPYC, of Government agencies, and of the two councils. They can be asked at the meetings (only by members of the CCC) or lodged in writing with the Chairman. Typically answers in writing are provided by the relevant party. To date, answers have been attached to minutes of CCC meetings (see earlier).
